Rev. David M. Horst came to First Parish in Malden in 2003, the Unitarian Universalist church’s 34th settled minister.
Upon receiving his Master’s of Divinity degree from Harvard Divinity School, Rev. Horst was ordained into the ministry in 1999 by the First Parish in Cambridge. He then served as Minister of Religious Education at the First and Second Church in Boston and Director of Religious Education at the Theodore Parker Church in West Roxbury prior to his appointment to minister at First Parish in Malden, Universalist.
In his life prior to his ministry, Rev. Horst enjoyed a long career in advertising and public relations, arts administration, and event management. That included serving as manager of Project Bread’s “Walk for Hunger” from 1992 to 1997. He’s also a founding member of the board of the Boston Children's Chorus.
Rev. Horst resides in Medford with his wife Alyson Gaylord-Loy, a teacher and artist. He is the father of four children Rachel, Katherine, Domnica, and Darly. His parents, Samuel and Josephine Horst, are members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota, Florida.

Rev. Jackie Clement has served as minister of the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church of Saugus since 2006.
Having received a Master’s of Divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School in 2004, Rev. Clement was ordained that same year by her home church, First Church Unitarian in Littleton, Massachusetts. Rev. Clement first two ministries were interim years with the Unitarian Universalist congregations of Rockland, Maine, and Saco, Maine.
In addition to ministry at First parish, Rev. Clement serves as a board member and web servant for the Unitarian Universalist Trauma Response Ministry, serves as Treasurer and web servant for the See a New Sun Foundation for suicide prevention, and as Vice President of the Women’s Alliance of Littleton, Massachusetts. She comes to the ministry following twenty years experience in the computer field as a software engineer and marketing manager.
Rev. Clement lives in Harvard with her husband, John Ford, and two unruly cats.
